Bravecto is a chewable tablet used to prevent infestation of fleas, kill fleas and many types of ticks for 12 weeks. It kills lone star ticks for 8 weeks. Bravecto (fluralaner), is the longest lasting oral flea and tick medication approved by the FDA.

Kills Fleas and Prevents Future Infestations
Bravecto chews not only kill active flea and tick infestations but also prevent future ones. Bravecto flea pills for dogs are a prescription flea protection medication, so you’ll need a prescription from your vet to order. Veterinarians often recommend Bravecto for the simple reason that it works to control current and future infestations. Once administered, it only takes two hours to start killing fleas and give your dog some relief from their itchy bites.
Pet parents like the way Bravecto flea pill keeps their dogs and homes flea- and tick-free, but they love how easy it is to use. The chews are tasty – dogs love them. They are perfect for dogs that won’t stay still long enough for you to squirt all the contents of a topical in the right place between the shoulder blades.
Often, dogs shake immediately after application and send the liquid all over the place, sometimes even on you. Prevents Diseases Transmitted by Flea and Tick Bites
Flea and tick bites can spread disease such as:
- Parasitic dermatitis – some dogs are allergic to substances in flea saliva that cause their skin to becomes itchy and inflamed. This irritation can lead to hair loss and infection.
- Lyme disease – considered the most common tick-borne illness in the U.S., the disease can cause sudden onset lameness accompanied by lethargy, fever, and anorexia.
- Tapeworms – these parasitic flatworms are transmitted by fleas that are ingested during grooming.
- Meningoencephalitis – can be caused by several tick-borne viruses. Symptoms include pain, fever, convulsions, and paralysis.
- Ehrlichiosis – this is a bacterial infection transmitted by ticks. It results in weight loss, lethargy, anemia, and enlarged lymph nodes and spleen.
There are few vaccines for the illnesses above. Flea and tick prevention is the best way to protect your dog.
What is Bravecto Chews?
Bravecto chews are only for dogs that are 6 months or older and weigh at least 4.4 lbs. Bravecto has not been shown to be effective for a 12-week duration in dogs younger than 6 months. Do not give Bravecto chews for dogs to cats.
Seizures have been reported in dogs receiving isoxazoline class drugs, even in dogs without a history of seizures. Use with caution in dogs with a history of seizures or neurologic disorders.
Side effects may last anywhere from 30 minutes to three hours, depending on which one your dog experiences. If your dog has side effects for an extended period of time, contact your veterinarian.

There are no known contraindications for the use of the product.
What special precautions are there?
